At 40 years old, I started feeling an intense pressure in my chest my doctors couldn’t explain.
The first time I saw a cardiologist, he took one look at me and said, “you’re too young and healthy to be here.” I told him what was happening, gave him my family’s history with heart disease, and then he said, “glad you came in today.”
After a series of tests, doctors found my heart was strong. In the absence of another explanation, they suggested my high blood pressure was to blame for my problem. The only solution, they said, was medication and then likely, someday, surgery.
This didn’t seem like a strong solution. So I started to seek out my own answers, only to find the internet, in all it’s vastness, didn’t provide many.
That’s why I’m here. I’m hoping to build a community of those of us who are younger than the typical cardiac patient, trying to heal our hearts before it’s too late.
I started this blog as an experiment, to develop 12 wellness habits and track my progress. And I did it! I was able to lower my blood pressure from an average of 154/105 to an average of 125/74, without the use of medication.
Now I make one YouTube video per week, and continue to post about the daily habits that are keeping my heart healthy.
Join me on this journey as I follow my heart and try to save it from disease.
How to Get Started

Each month in 2021, I incorporated a new habit into my lifestyle. Building on these habits all year, I managed to get my blood pressure under control.

It wasn’t perfect. There were stumbles and mistakes. But I did it. And I continue to document that journey weekly on YouTube.

Tapping into my love for data science, I tracked my blood pressure after each new habit, and charted my progress. This post is for the research nerds.
